Gift Card Drive for Bridge Over Troubled Waters

Help us help homeless youth.

Bridge Over Troubled Waters (Bridge) has supported runaway, homeless, and high-risk youth between the ages of 14 and 24 since 1970. These youth are likely to be struggling with any number of serious issues: court involvement, gang involvement, domestic violence, addiction, pregnancy, mental-health issues, school failure, significant learning disabilities, trauma histories, sexual exploitation, discrimination based on sexual orientation, or aging out of foster care.

This year, the Clearinghouse and Bridge have partnered to provide pro bono legal assistance to Bridge guests through the Clearinghouse’s Legal Clinic for the Homeless program.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker recently proclaimed October Pro Bono Month, so for the next four weeks we will be celebrating this new pro bono partnership by collecting gift cards for the many young people using Bridge services.

“For many Bridge kids, the gift cards may be the only thing they have to help them navigate through life on the streets. The city’s homeless youth have the weight of the world on their shoulders, and your contribution helps to lighten the burden for them.”

– LaTenya Allen, a development associate at Bridge who oversees
Operation Backpack and the agency’s other gift drives.

Cards should be in $5 to $25 increments.
