Kathleen King Parker

Kathleen King Parker has been a partner and is now of counsel with Pierce Atwood LLP. Before retiring from law practice at Pierce Atwood, she was at Choate Hall & Stewart LLP for 19 years. She concentrated her practice on state tax issues and state tax litigation. Early in her career she worked in Massachusetts state government, including the Department of Revenue and the Office of the Attorney General.

Kathleen graduated from Mount Holyoke College and Boston College Law School. She received an L.L.M. in taxation from Boston University School of Law.

Kathleen has worked in a number of bar and professional groups. She served as a member of the Council of the BBA, as chair of the BBA’s Tax Section and State Tax Committee and as co-chair of the BBA’s Limited Liability Company Task Force. She was a Trustee of Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation for many years.

For her Access to Justice Fellows Program project, Kathleen will work with the Justice Bridge Legal Center of the University of Massachusetts School of Law. Kathleen believes that the respect that lawyers receive in the community can be a positive force for good. Kathleen will be a mentor to Justice Bridge lawyers and work on special projects. Justice Bridge is a legal incubator that provides start-up assistance and resources to newly admitted lawyers to help them provide much-needed reduced-fee legal services to modest income clients.
