Michael Angelini

Michael AngeliniMichael Angelini is Chairman of the law firm of Bowditch & Dewey, with which he has been affiliated since 1968. Mike is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hanover Insurance Group, a Director of Commerce Bank, and a Director of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center Foundation. He is a former Director of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority.

He served as President of the Worcester County Bar Association in 1983 and 1984 and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Association for several years. He is a founding Director of the Worcester County Bar Foundation and a Director of Community Legal Aid.

Mike has twice received the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Community Service Award. He is the 2005 recipient of the Isaiah Thomas Award, awarded annually for outstanding community leadership in Worcester. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Mike is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Judicial Nominating Committee of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and served as a member of the Supreme Judicial Court Search Committee. He was an appointed member of the Criminal Justice Act Board for the Federal District of Massachusetts and has served as a special prosecutor for the Massachusetts Commission on Judicial Conduct. He was Co-Chair of Governor-elect Deval Patrick’s Transition Committee in 2006.

He is the former Director and Trustee of a number of Worcester-based organizations, including Clark University, the Worcester Foundation for Biomedical Research, the United Way of Central Massachusetts, the Worcester Municipal Research Bureau, and the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mike will begin his fellowship in January and is currently working to craft his project.
