As an Access to Justice Fellow, Steve will be working with MetroWest Legal Services, providing legal assistance to indigent clients seeking financial protections through the Chapter 7 bankruptcy process. This project is in response to a recent request from the judges of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Massachusetts, seeking pro bono bankruptcy counsel for debtors to address an identified immediate and urgent need. MetroWest Legal Services provides free civil legal aid to low-income people living in forty-five communities west of Boston and its mission is to protect and advance the rights of the poor, elderly, disabled and otherwise disenfranchised.
