Vickie Rothbaum

Vickie RothbaumUntil 2011, Vickie Rothbaum was a sole practitioner with a family law practice in Lexington, MA. In addition, she taught numerous family law courses through Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and the Massachusetts Bar Association, and frequently served as a guardian ad litem in custody matters. Currently, she is of counsel at Harsip and Stuart, PC, in Acton, MA, concentrating in mediation and parenting coordination matters. In 2012, Vickie, as a volunteer for Senior Partners for Justice, along with the law firm of Verrill Dana, began the Settlement and Early Resolution Volunteers (SERV) project in Suffolk County Probate and Family Court. This project utilizes experienced and trained family law conciliators to assist non-represented litigants in settling their cases when they are in court. Since April 2012, SERV has handled, and resolved, over 500 cases in the Suffolk County Probate and Family Court, and also through a pilot project in the Middlesex County Probate and Family Court.

Vickie received her J.D. from The University of Connecticut School of Law in 1977 and a B.A. from The University of Michigan in 1972.

As an Access to Justice Fellow, Vickie will continue her work with Senior Partners for Justice on the SERV Project and plans to work with the Plymouth County Probate and Family Court and other counties to expand the SERV project.
